We booked in for lunch and we were greeted by very friendly staff. The pub was lovely and warm and spotlessly clean. Food and drink was absolutely brilliant and good on price. We will definitely be back ??

Had a lovely pint on New Years Day after a nice walk. Pleasant atmosphere and staff were lovely. Even though we didn't eat the food looked delicious with good portions.

Totally out of the blue decision to stop for lunch, really enjoyed the food and service along with the Theakstons Old Peculiar, well worth the visit and certainly a repeat visit on the cards, might check the accommodation next time tooFood & drinks: Excellent food and of course the obligatory Theakstons Old Peculiar

Easily a cut above 'pub grub'. Great menu, great service and reasonably priced.

Popular and very busy pub, where the service was friendly and efficient. Food was ok, but not outstanding. Good atmosphere.

Stayed the night here last night and it was an absolutely wonderful stay. Our room was spacious, well decorated and comfortable with amazing views. We had our evening meal in the pub which was very nice as well. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful and we felt very well looked after during our stay. The Bull Inn is in a beautiful village and I'd highly recommend a visit.

Visited today for lunch, we were made to feel very welcome and although we reserved a table in the bar the staff were very accommodating when we asked to change to the beer garden as it was a gloriously sunny day.Ordering food and drink had to be order from the bar , the process was simple and straight forward. Our waitress Caroline delivered the food to our table in the beer garden with an enthusiastic smile and nothing was too much trouble. The food was fresh and plentiful and excellent value for money .We would definitely recommend a visit to the Bull inn, not only for the wonderful service but also for the location and fabulous beer garden!Highly recommended 5 ⭐️

We stopped by for lunch on the 3rd Sept not knowing that it is better to book if you want to make sure of getting a table. The staff were lovely, as all Yorkshire folk are, and found us a table. We had the roast beef sunday lunch which was fantastic. The pub itself has a lot of character. We didn't venture into the beer garden as I cannot currently manage stairs but it looked a nice place anyway. Service was very efficient and polite. Will definitely return.

Disappointed with the service is an understatement...We stayed in the area for a family holiday and as it was a nice day decided to pop into the local The Bull Inn for food on a Tuesday night. When we approached the bar to ask for a menu the first question was whether we had a booking. We found a table outside but before we could say anything apart from "no..." The barman rudely interrupted saying that they were only doing food for bookings. Fine. We left.Thinking about giving the place a second chance as it was convenient and it looked nice, we called the night before we wanted to go for dinner(Thursday night) to book a table for 6 adults and 2 children at 5pm and we were simply told by a lady that they couldn't do anything for us and she just hung up the phone on my MIL. I mean, what's the deal with the staff at this pub? Get it together people, if you don't want the business, fine (?) you can deliver the same message without being rude about it.

The good-we have eaten here previously; the fish and chips were outstanding. The bucolic setting by the river is idyllic. Not so good-we ordered at the bar, and were told twice that if we were eating in the garden we had to come back up the steps and say what the table number was, even though we were the only people in the garden and collect our own utensils, condiments etc on the way down. On this occasion I choose the steak pie which comes with vegetables and chips. When the slice of pie arrived it was sat in a bowl of thick deep gravy, the young friendly waitress, said she would return with the veg and chips. The terrible-when she did, it was almost impossible to describe the presentation/offering. What looked like a small saucer size of soggy almost unrecognisable something with small ready flabby chips dumped on top. Never have we seen anything quite like it! The pie was almost inedible the crust was rock hard and the gallons of gravy that the pie slice was sat in was extremely salty. In the interest of fairness, my partners fish and chips in comparison was well presented and of good proportions. Overall impression, the young waitress was friendly, the bar staff far less so, and what appeared to be the owner/manager even more so; customer service skills-sadly lacking. Subsequently. we thought it prudent to say nothing and left, will not be returning.
