Had a few meals here now. All have been exceptional. Already booked twice for February. The cheese soufflé is to die for.

Booked for a late Sunday afternoon lunch. From the minute we walked through the door nothing was too much trouble, the lady serving was welcoming, polite and passionate about the product. As a coeliac I was delighted when our host said they would serve GF Yorkshire with gravy! The food was beautifully cooked, 5 stars for melt in the mouth beef. We were expecting bog standard pub grub and although on the expensive side, we were very impressed ? We will sing your praises locally and we will certainly return.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free

The food was awful, really cold had to be warmed but clearly microwaved, was barely any food on the plate and was tasteless. The worst part was the extremely rude waitress with the orange hair, she had an awful attitude and very aggressive. She clearly hated her job. Please stay away from this place.

Just had a beautiful Sunday Lunch, food was delicious, and homemade cherry Bakewell desert was gorgeous, and finished off with a Bailey’s latte - highly recommended.

Fantastic Sunday lunch with family & our dog. We were made to feel very welcome and service was great throughout the meal. The bar area is welcoming and we were very impressed with the quality of the food. The desserts were delicious. The heifer is definitely a pub we will visit again.

Food was lovely, the taste was great but in my opinion expensive. We didn’t receive a particularly warm welcome, we felt we were a bit of an inconvenience as we hadn’t booked and the lady wasn’t sure if she would be able to squeeze us in. She said she could fit us in in the end but that we’d have to order very quickly before the next table arrived. We agreed, we knew what we wanted but then she didn’t come back to take our order for another 15min so it all felt a little awkward. We enjoyed what we ate but to me the bill for the 4 of us was overpriced for what it was.

Visited The Heifer on Sunday 3 September for lunch after being recommended to us by the reception at our accomodation. We pre booked a table. On arrival we sat on the village green in the beautiful weather and had our drinks which were delivered to us by a friendly waitress. We were then shown to our table indoors and ordered our lunch. One trio of roast meat and two roast beef. The food was excellent, hot, tender, plentiful and came with a good selection of fresh seasonal vegetables, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and gravy. All three of our meals were delicious and cooked to perfection. All the staff were helpfull, friendly, interested and efficient. The price was good value for money especially for the experience that we received. We would definitely recommend and return to this lovely village pub. Many Thanks.Parking: We were lucky and were able to park right outside The Heifer however parking was available round the village green. All free.

Food was absolutely beautiful. Compliments to the chef. Landlady was quite abrupt as she apparently thought we'd called in just to use the loo. She changed when she realised we wanted food and drink, although my other half was ready for walking out. Needs to work on her people skills. Shame really cos the food was spot on. We'll try the pub opposite next time.

Food was nice but a bit cold and the portion was on the smaller side, although there was a decent sized slice of beef. My partner felt hungry afterwards, which was a shame after paying £17. The crackling was a nice touch. The service was interesting, to say the least. We felt like we were school kids being told off at times, but it gave us a good giggle.

Had a table with friends booked for a Saturday night and despite the chaos of the 'Scorton Feast' going on outside, we had a quiet relaxing time with delicious food and attentive service. My starter was scallops with chorizo followed by an amazing burger for my main. Many more exotic sounding dishes were ordered by my friends and all were eyed with envy when they arrived, which didn't take long. I don't often wax lyrical about restaurants but the food was so flavoursome that I came away thinking I hadn't eaten that well in a very long time. If you want superb food in the Richmond area, then you really must try The Heifer.
