Enjoyed Sunday Lunch here today (5.11.23 /12:00) in this classic pub. As noted by others, it has a cosy feel, which we enjoyed, as compared to ultra modern or fake classic.The pub is divided into 2 areas: "dogs allowed" and "no dogs". Having previously visited this establishment twice while taking a pause from boating on the nearby Leeds & Liverpool canal, we were staying nearby on a short break and decided to return. We met friends here also and between the four of us we had: fish and chips, cod loin, steak and kidney pudding, and steak and ale pie. All four meals were excellent and very good value also. The staff here are incredibly welcoming and the cask ales are very well kept. The food looks amazing and I was talking to a friendly local at the bar who says it’s the best pub food in the village. I’d definitely recommend the beer and from the looks of it the food and accommodation is great too!
