The Old Oak Tree was an ideal stopping point between Shetland and the New Forest. Conveniently located near the A1 or A19, and just minutes from the centre of Thirsk, the establishment warmly welcomed guests like old friends. Visitors were delighted with the comfortable accommodation and impressed by the quality of the food, which included a delicious Sunday roast. The owners and staff were very friendly and professional, providing exceptional service. Guests enjoyed blissful nights of sleep, with breakfast equally as delicious as the dinner the previous evening. The Old Oak Tree proved to be a gem of a place to stay, with the added benefit of being dog-friendly. While some minor issues were noted, such as the need for a designated off-lead dog exercise area and potential hazards for mobility-impaired guests, the overall experience was overwhelmingly positive, leading to a strong recommendation for this peaceful and welcoming establishment.
