GRAND INDIA RESTAURANT AND TAKEAWAY
42 Long St, ThirskVisiting the area for a few days and fancied a curry, couldn't fault this place the food was fresh, very tasty and plentiful we shared the mixed platter for starters and then shared a lime & coriander rice and pashwarie nan with our curry's it was really good. Service was good gave us time in-between courses. The only let down was its a bit tired both inside and out and it was a little cold in the restaurant but they turned off the air con when asked to, so please don't be put off by aperances as the food was good and very reasonably priced.

Tesco Cafe
Station Rd, ThirskI bought my mum 2 sprays of carnations on the 6th November 2019 and she has told me that they still are looking gorgeous and have not wilted to date. What a great purchase they were. My mum is thrilled as they are her favourite flowers and can't believe I got them in a store. Well done Tescos and thank you. Susan Robson

Tea Time Café
Tea Time Cafe, 87 Market Pl, ThirskGreat tasting food, freshly made but the premises (for me) lacked atmosphere. I wouldn't call it a cosy cafe but the prices are reasonable and the food is very good. The menu is just large enough to give you a good choice of both food and drink with some quirky items not seen elsewhere which makes for a nice change.Staff were polite and did what was necessary to serve. Little in the way of friendly smiles (which we like) or enthusiasm.Worth a visit? Yes, you won't be wasting your time and it is excellently situated on the main square where there is a huge amount of parking although this can get very busy.

Black Bull
75 Market Pl, ThirskWish I had a pub like this near my house. From the first night I we felt like a regular. We went every night with our 2 dogs.Cheryl, the owner, works incredibly hard and will do whatever she can to improve your visit. An amazing and lovely lass. Zeus their dog runs around happily much to the glee of all in the place except my cocker. A shame and I felt bad for Zeus.Became friendly with most of the regulars. Even bought shots on the second night and drank with a few of them. Such fun.Becky, the 38 year old single mom, was a delight to chat with...and I regret not exchanging Facebook details with her. So, Becky, or any friend off Becky ....would love to fix that poor error in judgement. We will definitely go back when we return to the area.I cannot recommend this place highly enough...and the drink prices were substantially less than here in Birmingham.Lovely memories!

Dog and Gun
Knayton, ThirskWe visited the Dog and Gun whilst having a family weekend in Osmotherley. The pub is warm and welcoming . The Sunday lunch was exceptional , our group chose various meals and every one of them was very good. One of our party is dairy intolerant which sometimes really limits a Sunday lunch but she was very well catered for and they even made her a Yorkshire pudding. All the staff were really friendly and helpful . The dog and gun is definitely one to visit and I really hope we get to go back.

The Greyhound At Bagby
Main Street, Bagby, ThirskA really nice country village pub. Beautiful inside with a lovely atmosphere. Wide selection of Turkish meals along with English pub favourites. Prices slightly higher than an average pub but this is no average pub. The food quality was very high, cooked to perfection and with attentive and helpful service. Spotlessly clean. No loud annoying music. Just a very pleasant place to be and to eat. Highly recommended.
