Just stayed at this traditional pub for two nights. Lovely warm, comfy room. Pub has flagstone floors and two fires. Barman Albert was great. Chatty and welcoming. John and Dawn served us a fab breakfast. Serves local beer from Helmsley Brewery amongst other breweries. Very competitive prices. We had a very pleasant stay here for a weekend early October. The room was exceptionally clean. The bed was amazingly comfortable. We only had a chance to have their breakfasts at the time as dinners were not available at the time. As I see from more recent reviews it sounds like the dinners are wonderful!
