“Went to the restaurant based on recommendation. Had to queue 20mins outside for a table even though there were plenty of empty tables in the restaurant not occupied the entire time we were eating. The service was excellent with very engaging servers. Food arrived quickly with great selection of fish dishes as well as desserts. The classic fish and chips was great although batter was a bit soggy.”

“Just eaten at Royal Fisheries. Absolutely brilliant. Excellent, friendly service and lovely white flakey fish. Excellent food and in our opinion much better than Magpie Fish and Chips. Definitely worth eating with Royal.”

“Been here many times over the last few years on our annual visit to Whitby. Always consistently good. Queue is never that long despite it being busy. Surprises me that the magpie has longer queues yet oy been there once and it wasn't that good. Quayside deserves its awards. Today we had cod and chips three times and cheesy chips. Very tasty and hot.”

“The fish is crispy outside and the meat is just nice, lying soft inside. We had sole and plaice, we really like it. The staffs are attentive and polite. We tried the crockery as well, sour and nice with the fish and chips.”
