“This is such a great place for a BB. The atmosphere was warm & welcoming, the food was delicious and the service was amazing. Our waitress Annie was brilliant, we didn’t have to ask for a drink once as she was always on the ball and so friendly. Would definitely recommend and return.”

Bar • “I can honestly say this pub is a very pleasant suprise. From the outside it just looked like a dated old pub.
BUT the STAFF , SERVICE and FOOD are first class. I inadvertently ordered a dish to hot for my delicate palate and the staff resolved it 100%
The menu is fussion and not poncey but darn good food reasonably priced, this is central York.
Come hungry the portions are generous and leave room for pudding”

Bar • “Called in for for a bite to eat..... steak pie, home cooked chips, seasonl veg. Gammon home cooked chips, poached eggs. Both meals were superb, fresh cooked and quality. Peckham Pale was a good pint as well.”

“This pub serves restaurant level food. We had ham hock terrine hot seafood plater and breast of guinea fowl it was exceptional quality. The pub is frequented by the local community who clearly know the worth of this place and provide a genial atmosphere. All who work there couldn't have been more helpful and pleasant. Don't miss calling here and reserving a tabke.”

“Fantastic pub that serves great food with a friendly atmosphere, the dog friendly landlord Tristan is an absolute star who loves animals. There is a dog run, doggy menu and darts, pool tables board games for humans or you can just chat with the locals who are very welcoming.”

“Great evening at Meltons, food and wine outstanding, service first class, kitchen had a broken ice cream machine, no worries off down the road goes the owner to get ice cream from the local parlor, quality and would recommend every day of the week and twice on Tuesday!!”
