Bar in

“This place deserves a Michelin star ! Every dish is with the right seasoning and none of them is of too heavy taste but still with the complexity and richness .Definitely will come back again! And it worths a trip back to UK for this for sure !!”

“We love a good roast! We were recommended via Facebook to try this place by several people. It’s a traditional English pub… decor a bit dated but it has a nice feel and lovely service. I ordered the pork and everything was exactly what I wanted… lots of gravy, good veg and well cooked with apple sauce. My girlfriend ordered beef which was a bit over cooked for are liking but still nice nonetheless… I’d recommend the pork. We haven’t tried the chicken.”

“Absolutely brilliant!!! A totally enjoyable, relaxing and memorable time at the Bay tree. Arrived to be greeted by very welcoming friendly staff and shown to our table. The food was absolutely delicious with perfectly sized portions. A great selection of ales to choose from. A very clean and very well decorated venue. Our 8 month old son was made very welcome and well looked after. Having just recently moved to the area I'm definitely going to make this a regular visit not only for taking family and friends but also for nipping in for a swift half when passing ??.Kid-friendliness: Couldn't be more friendly and welcoming 5⭐”

“The food was amazing! The atmosphere was great, please don't ever make your music louder. It was the perfect level for background noise and still being able to have a conversation. The toilets are a trek away, not quote Wetherspoons, but you get your steps in. Clean, well maintained etc.The staff were very friendly and helpful, we asked to move tables as it was chilly by the door. They need to get more servers on on a Friday night, there was only one lady serving the whole floor for the first half an hour and they were rammed!Cocktails were delicious, food was great and not too pricey. It came to £100 including tip, for 3 of us to have a main and a cocktail each, it was 2 for one on cocktails too!”

“Very quaint little pub hidden out of the way, but definitely worth finding. Lovely traditional atmosphere and very helpful staff.”

“Food, service and ambience are lovely but the standard of guest rooms is not of the same level. Room 4 is small, and the en suite is poor, shower cubicle is miniscule and you need to be a contortionist to open and close the window! No double glazing and the room door is so poorly fitting you can hear everything in the hall way.The food is of a high quality and plenty of it. Staff are lovely and friendly. The decor and furniture of the pub and dining room is superb. Just need to do the same for the rooms.”

“My absolute favourite haunt in York, just outside the city walls. Drinks are extremely reasonably priced which makes it a popular hotspot among students and the food is always a decent portion. Service is quick and the staff are lovely. With board games and and a free pub quiz on Thursday evenings what more could you want? Would love to see the cheesecake out on the deli counter more often though!”
