British • “Lovely early supper for four of us. Nicely focused menu. We had the goats cheese tart, fish cakes and black pudding for starters; followed by the baked aubergine, lamb and surf and turf. Rarely make it to desert but the pear trifle and banoffi were delicious. Excellent, personal service and not surprised they were fully booked! Highly recommend.”

Variety of salads, drinks and wraps.I ordered a masala chai with broccoli salad and Falafel which was served with a delicious beetroot dip.I loved the food and ambience. Will definitely return when back to York.”

I had delicious liver pate and the pork three ways, it was wonderful, particularly the black pudding. My wife had smoked salmon and goats cheese and the incredible steak and mushroom pie with Guinness. Highly recommended”

“Very good food and great selection of wines at this friendly Michelin bib gourmand restaurant. Excellent value for money. Highlights were the hens eggs, lamb dumplings, and calamari. Potato tower is a must.”
