“Absolutely amazing, I was in food heaven. Manager was so nice and considerate. Asked my how day was, which was nice. He wad absolutely charming. Again, the food was stunning. Looked lovely and tasted better than any in Acomb. Would recommend to everybody ever. The rich juicy flavours of the chicken really brought out the exquisite spice of the sauce. The makkani was to die forKid-friendliness: Was also very nice to my child, which was lovely”

“I have had several meals from Saffron Spice now. Mainly Chicken garlic chilli balti. The food is always delicious. You can tell that quality ingredients are used. The staff are friendly and helpful. If I want something slightly different, nothing seems to be a trouble. If you like your curry hot, I can highly recommend the Lanka piaza chef's special. Not disappointing with the heat and doesn't compromise on flavour. Our new favourite takeaway in York.”

“Ordered a take-away through Just Eat that never arrived. The Viceroy manager was really helpful in updating me on my order, each time I called, that was ready and waiting collection for over 2 hours (It never did get collected)! So put in the order direct, at the advice of the manager (which was £8 cheaper than my original Just Eat order) they had it ready for me in 30 minutes and were really kind when I collected and showed me the Just Eat glitch on their end too. The food was also really good - so worth the wait and picking up myself!*I did eventually get a full refund from JustEat, but won't be using their service again!”

“First time eating here and can honestly say i will definitely be back. My friend and I were staying at The Ibis Hotel directly opposite and as a last minute decision decided to try Jorvik Spices and I'm so pleased we did. The place was nipping clean, the atmosphere was good, the waiter was lovely and could not have been more helpful or attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. We had onion bhaji for starters, I had chicken jalfrezi with pilau rice. The Jalfrezi was full of chicken and the rice was cooked perfectly. My friend had the same starter then had Chicken Dopiaza with chips, she said her meal was beautiful too. We had a garlic and a keema nann which were light, fluffy and very tasty. Apart from everything ive said the prices are very reasonable. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough.”

“Ignore the olde worlde decor, and enjoy the food. The service is very gracious and helpful. The naan breads were freshly made and outstanding. The main courses were superb and very plentiful - go when you are hungry, or ask for a takeout of what you can't eat, which is what we did.On the downside, it does take a while to prepare the food but, if that means it is freshly made, it is worth the wait.”
