I am a local at the Shahi and the food is always amazing. Abdul is a very talented chef and always tries his hardest to make every curry extra special, not to mention the lovely service I receive every time. The most basic of curries are made with amazing flavours that outrank any others in York. I highly recommend as this is the best family run curryhouse around for miles.Freya x
The best Indian takeaway in York no question. Flavoursome and the Balti was superb rice perfect. Every time I go it is consistent best to pre other as gets busy. Far better than the two sit in Indians on Bishopthorpe road.

So tasty, quality is so good and just so tasty! Soft naans, fluffy. Old school chips and rice has been great (in the past tonight was chips) and such a lovely guy who runs it! Can be busy though. Try tikka on naan :)
