I’ve been here before for lunch and had pizza which was always excellent. Nice base and very juicy. Came in the evening this time and the food was excellent. The char grilled burger was excellent. Tasted like it should and didn’t come in a huge tower which you then spend all night deconstructing. The lasagne was also delicious. Service quick and polite. Beer was icy cold. We walked in by chance, without a reservation, it was heavily raining, it was a Saturday evening and of course all the tables were booked. But I sincerely asked to find us any place, as we had come from Oxfordshire and we did not know the area at all. Ate here on our family trip to York. Dropped in on the Sunday but they were busy so booked for the Monday. My daughter-in-law has a severe coeliac intolerance, Tobias really put her mind at rest. Not only was the food amazing, the service was wonderful. Tobias even went as far as personally seeing that her food was not at risk of cross contamination.
