It was busy with a midweek quiz and the atmosphere was happy and friendly. The barmaid was chatty and pleasant. She was sadly unable to pull me a decent pint, as the place had no sprinklers for the cask ales and a £4 flat pint was a bit rough.
This is a friendly pub, it serves good food and carers for all. From Friday to Sunday it comes alive with Disco, live music and other entertainment. It has a very active function room that gets very busy on a Saturday with young people from the town. It is also used by a lot of community groups for meetings and social gatherings. Next to the Town hall and central parking it is a good location.
