This is my favorite pub in Belfast. Very small. Service is quick and to the point. They have traditional live music many afternoons and evenings. Fantastic pints poured. Definitely not a place for partiers looking to slam shots and rage. A majority of the clientele are locals who are there to relax and have quiet conversations. If you rush in looking to rage and party, you will probably be asked to leave. If you’re a conservative American tourist, don’t bring up politics....read full review

Popped into Maddens on Tuesday for a pint, got chatting with a few different people, good craic, a live session, good Guinness and ended up staying for a few hours. Definitely recommend ???

A really interesting find near the centre of Belfast. It felt more like an old country pub in the wilds of Kerry. Irish language sayings carved and painted on every surface and loads of memorabilia hanging on the walls give it a real old world feel
