Found this chip shop via Google Maps on my first night in Belfast. I was staying along Templemore Avenue, it’s what a chip shop should be, lively, greasy and welcoming.Eddie asked what part of England my accent was from, politely I might add, and also what football team I supported, I confided I was Man Utd fan, he’s a Leeds Fan. Eddie Spence's Fish and Chips - the best you will find anywhere. I've been going here since I was a kid and it hasn't changed. It looks the same and the quality is the best whatever you order. Fish is in a lovely golden batter and the chips are as the German Captain said he wanted in Dads Army " crisp und light brown."Simply the best there is.

Visiting Belfast from Cincinnati, Ohio. Spences was a short walk from our AirB&B. It has by far the best fish and ? in the UK. Eddie, the third generation owner, was friendly and we had a nice chat about George Best eating in this very chip shop growing up. If you up for some local flavor and some great fish, you can't miss Spences.
