We stepped into this bar on our little pub crawl. After just being in the File of York with its mad decor, brightness and loud atmosphere, the John Hewitt initially seemed a bit tame and simple.However, we were too quick to judge and this was by far one of our favourites on the tour.The staff are really nice and friendly, pouring a splendid Guinness. The headcount of Guinness I’ve ever had!! Super creamy, with an incredible head and just leaves you wanting more and more! Great bar/pub with fab live Irish music, such a great place to come!

Really liked it. It was a typical bar - nothing pretentious about it and it had a gr8 atmosphere. Really enjoyed it & and I would go again. Prices were a lot cheaper than in city centre
