On the bustling High Street but a hidden gem (well to us) How did we not know this was here when it's been open for 27 years!\nIt was lunchtime so very quiet but we had such a nice time. Attentive and friendly service and the food! I had the confit duck salad with chocolate mousse for afters. One friend had scampi then doughnuts and the other had the burrata salad starter as a main. All so good!\nBeautiful room and a lovely outside deck too.\nWe sat well behind lunch closing time (sorry!) but we weren't rushed and really had no idea we overstayed. \n\nWe will be back!

30 High St, HolywoodI have two criteria I use to judge a restaurant - firstly, on whether or not a server knows the soup of the day when asked. So this place was already in my good books when the server did not hesitate to inform me that the Sup d' jour was carrot, lentil and bacon. A snowstorm was coming (in mid-October! I know, crazy right?) So the thought a warm and cosy starter - well, it is a no-brainer.\nAnyway, when the soup arrived, I was pleasantly surprised by having my second judgement criteria fulfilled. The butter for the bread was soft and spreadable. How i hate cold solid patties of butter.\nCoast was onto a great start with me. The lentil and bacon combo was nigh on perfection, not too salty and of a moderate temperature.\nMy second course was mini Sunday roast beef (on a Saturday!. I know im an animal, and i dont care).\nThe dish's name, "mini roast," was a white lie on the part of management because i couldn't finish the plate. The beef was sliced well and cooked just right for me but I left half a slice of meat plus a bit of mash and a roast potato - again cooked to my approval. I was not intending to miss out on desert, so........I ordered........3 cheese board.

Holywood is lucky to have this place.

51 High St, HolywoodFound this place last year and thought then it was the best Indian food we had ever had, so we had to go back just to confirm our first impressions and we did. We will return next year. Only 4 for Atmosphere as there were few people in but what do you expect at 5pm on a Thursday

Indian Ocean Restaurant
149-153 High St, HolywoodOur first time here, and wow what a great place!! The service was absolutely fantastic - we had a young gentleman serving us and honestly, we ordered drinks and they were on the table within 45 seconds of ordering.
Then onto the food - popadoms to start with a couple of different sauces and chutney, absolutely delicious.
Then for the mains I had the Rogan Josh Curry with King Prawns, really tasty, and flavorful with pilau rice & the Mrs had the Garlic Chilli Ghosht - the lamb was so so tender and the sauce again was perfect, I tried a bit as well and it was excellent.
For dessert, trio of ice cream and I got the chocolate mousse. Brilliant and little rolo chocolates on my mousse as well was a lovely little touch.
All in all very reasonable price as well for the two of us and it was super filling as well. We will definitely be back - really was top notch service I must admit.

143 High St, HolywoodNew staff made it a pleasure to go in and order. Very helpful, chatty and polite. The pizza absolutely banged, light crisp on the base, fluffy crust - 10/10. Their garlic dip is delicious and great prices too. Will be coming again

Johnny The Jig
57 High St, HolywoodMy work treated me to a lunch in Johnny the Jig just before I went off on maternity leave. We went along as a group of 8 and were greeted and seated immediately upon arrival. Service was quick and efficient, and food came within good time. I went for the chicken ceasar salad, which was absolutely beautiful! The others enjoyed their food too! I love what they've done with the interior, it looks amazing and really unusual and unique! Last year, we also ended up in here on a night out. A friend of a friend was part of the band who were playing in the function room upstairs, and although the place was packed, we had a lot of fun! It was a lovely night and it was nice to sit at their on street seating outside too! I definitely recommend Johnny the Jig, it blends in so well with the rich selection of all the lovely places to go in Holywood!

25 Church Rd, HolywoodMy son and I had the most beautiful lunch outside in the sunshine yesterday. As we were eating, a lady had a really bad fall on the pavement right in front of us. We went to help her immediately as did two fantastic staff from Joxer. One staff member Maddie was a First Aider, and she tended so professionally and sensitively to the lady ( who had a bad head and hand injury). She stayed with the lady until further medical help was available. We were just amazed at their willingness to help and their skills and kindness and would like to congratulate the owner on hiring such fabulous staff. So, Joxer has it all in our opinion Excellent food and service along with staff who will go that extra mile for customers and non-customers alike. Just brilliant !

2-4 Kinnegar Rd, HolywoodThe service and food was very good in the bar area despite being busy. We always had staff on hand for drinks. The sweet chilli chicken dish in the picture, is a starter but can be made upto a main dish. It was delicious. The burgers were lovely too. Well done staff!

81 High St, HolywoodWent for lunch recently. The cafe was packed but straight away we were shown to a table. Loved the decor and the very comfortable velvet chairs. Even though they were busy the service was quick and our waitress was very friendly. I got the potato and leek soup with wheaten bread. It was really nice and a big portion. I can see why they had lots of repeat customers!

Unit 1, 70 Lesley Mews, Co Down, HolywoodI call in here on a fairly regular basis, at least once or twice a week.\nit will be familiar to anyone who has been in a chain coffee place in terms of coffee, food offerings and general feel, and of course to anyone who has been in any Nero before. \nThe staff here tend to be good and there is a great consistency to the service so it's always a pleasure. \nThe only drawback is there is a tendency for people in here to take up a seat before actually going to the counter and getting their coffee/food so there are times when after walking away with your order at busy times you might be lucky to get a seat with it !

Culloden Estate and Spa, 1 Cultra Station Rd, HolywoodWe visited here this week for my husband’s birthday celebration. I had called in advance and asked them if they could do something special? And we decided that when I’d order dessert they will bring it out on a special platter with a candle! And they did so! In fact upon entering my husband was greeted very nicely and wished happy birthday! Our server Adam’s friendly nature made us feel at ease instantaneously. Now that’s a five star on hospitality. Let’s talk about the food, we ordered a variety of dishes- chicken curry, cod, and prawn linguine. I am so impressed with the chefs breath of expertise across all cuisines. I mean the mix of flavours, the chopping, every thing was perfectly done! Brilliant team work! Definitely will go again and won’t wait until another birthday!
