Tea in the Paddock
Paddock Hall, Morpeth Rd, ChoppingtonCant thank the team at Tea in the Paddock enough for letting us celebrate our Dad's 80th Birthday today. Afternoon tea was lovely, honey mustard sausages were delicious and the kids sharing platter was huge and a big hit. He loved his pint of 'Tea in the Paddock' too. Such a lovely family friendly venue.

The Seahorse
16 Front St, Guide Post, ChoppingtonI have just moved to the North East. This feels like and tastes like an authentic NE Chippy. Lovely people serving and freshly cooked food. It's a happy place with a warm welcome. It's years since I was asked if I wanted to do my own salt and vinegar and whether I wanted paper wrapped or box. These things matter.

Ruby Cantonese Takeaway
131 Ashington Dr, ChoppingtonNew to the area, we're so happy to have found Ruby's Cantonese! We ordered a Char Sui Curry with chips, S&S Chicken in batter with fried rice, pancake rolls and plain chow mein. The fried rice was bland, but everything else was excellent!Pancake rolls were crisp, tasty, but not greasy. The Chicken in batter was SO flavourful, tender and perfectly cooked, and the sweet and sour sauce was clearly NOT the standard jarred stuff that most Chinese takeaways use, and though I don't actually mind the taste of that, this sauce was definitely superior! My hubby said the curry was great, and even the plain chow mein was very flavourful. After trying 3 other places in the area in the last 3 months and being disappointed in all, we've now found our go-to for Chinese takeaway! Great service and quick delivery as well!
