The Bowes Hotel offers a clean and tidy bar and restaurant area with a good selection of food and welcoming staff. Guests have praised their Thai menu, especially the fantastic yellow curry. They enjoyed a very nice rump steak and scampi and chips during Sunday lunch, with reasonable prices for the area. The hotel features large TVs for sports and a pool area, making it a versatile pub. Rooms are great, meals are generous, and soft drinks are very cheap. It is recommended for visitors to Vindolanda or Hadrian's Wall.
