Main St, Lambley, NottinghamBeen coming here for years, seen owner after owner. Haven’t been for a while but glad we came to try the food on Friday night, it was really nice and service was great. The pub was busy which was pleasant to see. The food at the Lambley the week before was dire compared to the food at the Robin, and at half the price too! We’ll be back to take advantage of the premium beer offer shortly :)

The Nags Head
Main St, Woodborough, NottinghamNice big car park. Tastefully furnished with quality furniture and I liked the carpet. Staff couldn't have been more pleasant and smartly presented. Obviously a happy workplace. Drink prices reasonable. Main meals have a light bite option which made them a few quid cheaper and still very filling for pensioners like ourselves. Steak and Ale pie delicious and vegetables (cabbage, carrots and peas) perfectly al dente. Chips were fine but would have been nicer if they had been prepared from scratch, blanched then finished off in hot oil. However, I appreciate that makes them more labour intensive and costs have to be kept down in these times. Not a criticism as they were decent quality frozen ones. Left there feeling satisfied and certainly not ripped off. Can't wait to try the Sunday lunch when we have guests stopping over.

Spring Ln, NottinghamI was genuinely surprised to see this place rated below 4 stars. While it’s not fancy or trendy, it delivers exactly what it promises: simple, honest food, decent prices, and friendly service. Sometimes that’s all you really need — and they get it right.
We ordered a few things to try: a panini, fries, a slice of cake, coffeese. Everything arrived in about 10 minutes, which was quicker than expected considering the place was moderately busy. The food came warm, and while nothing was particularly gourmet or groundbreaking, it all tasted fine — fresh, well-prepared, and satisfying. The fries were nicely crisped, the panini had a good amount of filling, and the cake was light and not overly sweet. Coffee was also decent – hot and well-balanced.
What really stood out was the service. The staff were genuinely kind and attentive, without being overbearing. We were greeted with a smile, our order was taken promptly, and everything was brought to the table without any confusion or delay. That kind of smooth and polite service makes a big difference, especially in casual eateries like this.
The atmosphere inside was simple but clean, and there was enough space between tables to feel comfortable. It felt like the kind of place that gets regulars — people who appreciate a calm, unpretentious spot to grab a bite or coffee break. It may not be Instagram-worthy, but it’s definitely functional and reliable.
Overall, I’d say this place deserves more recognition. If you’re after something quick, warm, and easy without any fuss, it’s a solid choice. I’d happily return when I’m in the area again.

Dumbles View Ltd
Floralands, Catfoot Ln, Lambley, NottinghamVery happy. Breakfast was quite big, very delicious, and hot. Coffee extra hot like requested at the till. Nice atmosphere by the fireplace, nothing beats a live fire. I haven’t felt so cosy for a very long time, really impressed by the temperature, I could even take off my jumper.
Really happy and I'm waiting for a repeat.
The prices are also reasonable compared with other similar places.
Nice staff.
Breakfast is served till noon so this is a big advantage as well :)
