“Really quirky little place this. Cozy on a cold night and the food is decent. Great selection of beers and a great place for bikers to meet up cos many of the nearby roads are brilliant riding roads.”

“I’ve been here many times for Sunday Lunch and have never left disappointed. The quality is consistently excellent, and it’s clear they take pride in what they serve. I’ve also tried both their English and American breakfasts, and they absolutely hit the mark—generous portion sizes, great value for money, and most importantly, the taste is fabulous. Highly recommend if you’re after a hearty, satisfying meal in a welcoming spot.”

“Great selection of ales served by very friendly staff in a comfortable and quirky pub. What more could you ask for! Food was limited, but looked quite nice. We ate at the similarly-great Cafrello Vietnam House across the road.”

“Go here every September due to the fact it holds a motorcycle rally. Always have a good time. Evening meals on both Friday and Saturday evenings were very good, and value for money. To be honest, never been here at any other time but it also has a campsite next door literally 1 minute walk, with a good playground for children. Few steps to get inside though, but there are tables outside and in the garden at the side.
Parking: Parking outside pub on a level.
Kid-friendliness: Due to the campsite and playground I would say very kid friendly.”

“To the Fox I want to say well done for being the best real ale bar in Newark but also having an awesome selection of craft beers and Whiskies.
The Fox is a total gem in Newark.
The staff are friendly and engaging plus you will always be served a perfect pint at a very reasonable price so good quality mixed with value which is hard to see these days.
The interior is a mix because of the pubs quirky mix of an old shop, pub, yard (which is inside) and entry between (which if you look is inside to).
It serves not only locals but the patrons that frequent the towns Theatre down the road so you might meet famous people like Jasper Carrot (which I did five years ago).
If one is out alone or indeed with company this pub is a must.
I have been drinking in the Fox for 22 years and it’s still fabulous.
See you soon chaps
Rikx”
