Since this pub has been renamed "Black shale" and had a complete overhaul, it is so very much improved. Really comfortable , and very good decor. Very helpful, and friendly staff. Superb foods. Myself and a friend wanted something to eat, but, not too heavy. So we both chose "Fish finger Sandwiches". Only eaten at White Lion once for Sunday lunch - enjoyed meal & manager & staff very friendly & helpful. Been in for evening drinks a few times. Good choice of beer and friendly bar staff. Good to see this major refurb seems to have been successful as for a long time it has been an eyesore but it's totally turned round.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free

Now called Black Shale Pub ... Very nicely decorated and cozy. Big outdoor patio. Staff were friendly and helpful. Worth another visit.Vegetarian options: A creative menu. One of my guests had something vegi but it was too salty. We weren't charged for it after saying so.Parking: Some parking available and more just across the road near the Arc cinema
