“The sort of pub we should treasure. Friendly local with good pub grub. Great garden when our wonderful summer allows!”

“The room was very clean and well presented, the tea and coffee facilities were excellent. The food was great as was the service, breakfast was excellent as well.

I was very harsh on dropping 1 star due to the duvet being too thick for me and there was no alternative, so I didn't sleep well. Also the bedside tables in the room I was in are pretty much unusable due to the size of the lamps on them.

I do fully recommend The Black Bull as somewhere to stay and will certainly try to stay there again next time I'm in the area!”

Vegetarian options: The most delicious veggie roast, not an after thought - cauliflower cheese was so good, plus a tasty roasted veg tart with all the expected trimmings. Great quality, good price, fun friendly service.”

“Another wonderful dinner bed & breakfast stay at our favourite pub. The pub and dining areas are in an old and well renovated pub: exposed brick, small but connected rooms and good sized tables. Food is excellent, well beyond standard pub fare. An excellent choice of wines, beers and spirits.
Rooms are in a separate building across the road. To our mind they are a little fussy, with antique furniture and mirrors.
Superb breakfast capped another lovely treat to ourselves.
This is not a cheap option but quality of food, building and excellent service just about justify the cost for a special occasion.”
