“Well kept beer to start, and on happy hour.Dinner was great, very tasty beef and Stilton pie plenty of vegetables chips and gravy. Creme brulee pudding spot on.Very pleasant staff, well done everyone.”

“Stopped off here on our return to Nottingham as wanted a good bar to watch football whilst enjoying a pint, great small bar for football, had numerous TV'S to watch from wherever you choose to sit, drinks prices were fair too. If we are passing through Oakham we will definitely stop here again”

“We went for a first meal here, its an old fashioned pub from the outside and interior design but don't let that put you off, as the food being served and service is absolutely first class. We started with the brie and bread for two which was very very good, perfect. I had the lamp served on crushed potatoes which was very tasty and my wife the cod. Both meals were proper size food and non of this little portion stuff. We had desserts as well, my wife had the Pannal cota and I had the crumble. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will be back.Parking: Nice field and easy access.”

“We were recommended to come here by another establishment in the town as sadly they weren't able to do food until later in the day.As soon as we entered the Wheatsheaf it felt welcoming and friendly.The food was delicious and homemade. The service was very good and even though it got busier during our visit, noticed a calm and controlled way the staff were.Our thanks goes to Kerry who is the Landlady and will definitely return here when we come to Oakham.”

“We were staying at The Wisteria Hotel and decided to try the restaurant attached which is Hunters Bar & Kitchen. It was a Sunday evening and I am very glad that we had booked as it was very busy. Being a Sunday, we were presented with the Sunday menu which included some roasts and although this isn't something that I would normally order, I decided to go for the roast beef. It turned out to be great, and as well as containing a generous portion of beef, there were lots of vegetables, a very large yorkshire pudding and plenty of gravy. Looking at the plate I never thought I would finish it but I did! I would be happy to return to try another of their menus.”

“We came to the grainstore on the off chance before the train and we were served by a wonderful guy called Ben, he took the time to talk us through all the beers and recommended the best things on the menu. He provided 5 star service and really made our experience. We will 100% use the grainstore again”

“Nice little find here, we visited mid afternoon and so there were few visitors at the time, hence the slightly low mark for atmosphere. Staff were lovely, good selection of wines and beers. The menu was pretty good and food was excellent, well presented, freshly cooked.Decent sized car park, easy access for all.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access”

“Lovely pub. Had a lovely dinner there, the Punjabi burger was genuinely amazing. Staff were lovely, and had a lovely interaction with what I assume was the landlord just before we left. Heartily recommend it to anyone coming through.”

“Stopped by for Sunday dinner and it was really good. We had the whole roast chicken for two and it was really good and unique. We would've liked a bit more vegetables to go with it but for the amount of chicken you got we cannot really complain. Very cute inside and the fire on meant it was lovely and warm. Would definitely recommend :)”
