First chippy from The Tawny, won't be the last! We tried fishcakes and chips, plus some courgette fritters and portobello mushrooms, served for dinner at home with some green salad leaves. Everything was so tasty.Hot (as it's all freshly made), batter is crispy and well seasoned, veggies substantial and so full of flavour. This is real food obviously made with care. As my wife laments, I’m painfully fussy when it comes to a chippy. But this place is really knocking it out the park. The Tawny clearly take pride in putting together a great plate of food. It’s well thought out and seems to get better each time I visit. The fish is fresh and cooked to order and the batter is something special: light, crispy and not in the slightest bit greasy.
