Simple and tasty food. The best fish and chips in the area. I also enjoyed Irn-Bru ice-cream. Good for a quick bite and takeaway. Cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. The toilets are clean and nice as well. Every time it's a pleasure to be here. Highly recommended ?

I’ve been waiting for my “Chips and Cheese” for 20 minutes and it not worth it because the chips is deep fried for a little bit and they won’t let your cheese to melt at all.

After ordering, despite the seating area being empty, it took almost half an hour to produce two toasties. It doesn't take a genius to know why the Camembert on my toasties wouldn't melt. Hint: Keep fresh cheese in your fridge!!! I am so disappointed as I took an elderly client there as she used to go regularly with her laye husband. Shame, it could have been a great experience with a bit more care and consideration.
So impressed with the tuck inn, the food was hot and so delicious. We visited on our first night staying in Edzell on our holiday and enjoyed it so much we visited again later that same week! The first time we had the fish supper, the fish was cooked perfectly with the right amount of batter coating the white flaky delight, my youngest son tried the pizza crunch and was extremely impressed with it! The second time I had the haggis supper which was very nice, my son had the mock chop which he really enjoyed too. I wish we lived closer so we could visit more often but coming from Bristol is a tad too far!!

I went with my son and 2 year old granddaughter for lunch. The service was fantastic Jo was very helpful friendly and nothing was a bother. Accommodated my granddaughter so well. A very friendly environment. The food was tasty and fresh vegetarian chips made from a different fryer care taking in offering vegetarian choices. and the ice cream is fantastic. All round good quality service

Amazing fish and chips with an amazing saucemade in-house, I absolutely loved the fish and the chips was also on a really high level. Great and polite service. Definitely the best place to eat in Edzell, also the ice cream was very delicious. The place is reasonably price and I definitely recommend it.

This is a very quaint setup of a cafe/chippy/ice cream shop that is quite pretty and nostalgic at the same time. At the mai entrance its a lovely bright cafe serving more than chipshop food in a more refined cafe room. To the side is a small alley leading to an entrance to the same shop but a separste area where you can order your fish n chips or Ice cream to go. I grew up on the east coast and have seen this in a few shops in coastal towns and villages. Nowhere else in my extensive travels.I had a very large double scoop wafer cone served by a very polite young lady to take down to the Shakkin brig just along the road and down a fairly steep track to the riverside.Perfect.Parking: Just a few spots on the main street. Worth driving down a bit.Wheelchair accessibility: The main door is accessible.
