Restaurants in Crieff
Delivino
6 King St, CrieffWhat a fantastic new menu, a few of the old favourites pepper some excellent new additions.
The soft shell crab, chicken liver parfait, croquettes and sobrasada toasts particular highlights from the Small Plate section. I couldn’t help but order all of them, and the soft shell crab, twice!
Liking the new crockery, they give a very authentic feel to the whole menu.
For mains I had the Cacio e Pepe, I was already full but this was a plate of joy, and I couldn’t help but finish it.
Dessert was a Lemon Meringue Sundae soft serve with lemon verbena, I was already beyond full… but it was a to good.
The food was prompt and the service, as alway.. had a lovely personal touch.
A great local restaurant trying new things, credit to them… I will be back and look forward to trying some of the other new items on the menu.

The Glenturret Distillery
The Glenturret Distillery, The Hosh, CrieffThe most extraordinary distillery tour we have ever had, with an excellently guided bo-rush tasting session with a lot of backand forth between the visitors and the guide. Small note: I'm reviewing the 75 gbp tour.

The Glenturret Lalique Restaurant
Glenturret Distillery, The, Hosh, CrieffWorld-Class Multi-Course Dining with Exceptional Service
The Glenturret Lalique near Crieff is a restaurant operating at the very top level. Mark Donald’s food is simply outstanding – technical, precise, and yet full of playful touches that make the experience memorable.
The menu has moments of real surprise. A humble Scottish tattie scone is elevated to world class. Bread is treated as a course in its own right, unlimited and quite possibly among the best in the UK. The langoustine arrives in two parts: a tartare with caviar and a delicate biscuit with mousse – elegant and clever. The lobster toddy is another highlight, starting with a “knuckle sandwich,” claws presented as the poshest sandwich imaginable, served with a lobster broth, followed by the tail cooked gently over coal. The lamb, cooked perfectly pink, was a masterclass in flavour and balance.
Service matches the standard of the kitchen – professional, knowledgeable and yet wonderfully relaxed. The team are exceptional at reading the room, creating an atmosphere that feels welcoming and unpretentious while still delivering polished fine dining.
Desserts continue in the same spirit. The raspberry and wild rose combination was light and refreshing, while the signature Maracaibo mille-feuille is fun and theatrical, a dish that closes the meal with a smile.
We stayed at Aberturret House, just a short walk from the restaurant (with a lift provided if needed). With only six bedrooms it’s a peaceful retreat, and the continental breakfast made for a fitting end to a truly special stay.
This is dining that feels destined for even greater recognition – world-class food in a beautiful part of Scotland.

The Quaich
47 High St, CrieffMy 2 sister-in-laws and I had the pleasure of finding this wee gem of a place today.
My sister-in-law has a dog and he was warmly welcomed in with us.
The lady who served us was very kind and friendly even going so far as to give us directions to the quickest way home to Glasgow!
The lentil soup was delicious and the tea plentiful.
This was our first visit to Crieff and we cannot praise The Quaich Bar highly enough.

The Gurkha's
1 E High St, CrieffWe were staying at a lodge at the Crieff Hydro and ordered a take way meal. We had a lamb biriani, a potato and okra main meal,a mixed pakora and naan bread. Although the restaurant is titled as a Nepalese restaurant, the menu is just the usual suspects from an Indian restaurant, however, the execution of the meals was excellent. The sauces had real depth of flavour and more complexity than the usual curry gravy. The bhindi alloo was very generous, and cooked perfectly; not always the case with okra. The lamb was lean and tender The service was prompt too. We actually had enough food left for another meal. The only reason I don't give 5 points is because I was not able to pay over the phone so could not get it delivered as I had no cash, and I eould have liked to have seen some traditional Nepalese dishes on the menu. Really lovely though and would definitely use again.

The Crieff Food Company
3 W High St, James Square, Crieff, PerthWe stopped in Crieff for 15 minutes to break our journey. We chanced upon the Crieff Food Company and were very impressed. We bought a few things. We didn’t go to the cafe. The presentation, range of products and overall ambience was great. The staff were polite and service was good if not particularly proactive. The shop would be impressive in Edinburgh. Even more so in a small town like Crieff. A great chef’s destination and something to make us think that Crieff would be a nice place to live.

Orchid Chinese Takeaway Crieff
43 King St, CrieffFound ourselves in Crieff and not knowing where to go for dinner. After being disappointed by every sit in restaurant we decided to get a take away and head back to our lodgings for the night. Man who served us was brilliant, made sure we got the best value for money and cheered us up after a gloom evening. Even gave my daughter some free sweets! The food was brilliant. We are Chinese Takeaway snobs and like what we like, but this place is on par with our favourites back home. With the delightful service and yummy food I would recommend anyone near Crieff (or passing) to try The Orchid Chinese Takeaway!
Kid-friendliness: Gave my daughter free haribo sweets to cheer her up after a long, tiring evening.

Central Fish Bar
13 King St, Perthshire, CrieffFood was made fresh for us. You cannot beat a freahly made fish supper IMHO. 2 Fish Suppers were very good with crispy batter on the fish.
Burgers were ok. 2 burgers inside the roll but could be improved with cheese melted on burger and meat more like a square sausage than beef.
Service was very nice and staff helpful.

Comrie Fish & Chip Shop
1 Dunira St, Comrie, CrieffA traditional chippy atmosphere, food was quickly supplied in a large portion and remained piping hot for the 10 min drive to St Fillans. The fish was excellent, very flavourful, the batter was crisps and the chips soft and supplied in droves. All in all, an excellent experience.
Parking: The shop itself is situated on a corner, however there is some street parking just round said corner and a small car park a little further down
