Deanston Distillery
Teith Rd, Deanston, DouneWe really enjoyed the tour through the distillery. Kenny spoke very pleasantly and enthusiastically about the history and the whisky-making process. It is also always nice to hear stories about people's superstitions in the past; those are the parts that stick with me. Our 13-year-old son also found the tour very interesting. He was well involved during the walk, ensuring he got something out of it even without being able to taste the whisky. Highly recommended!

Buttercup Cafe
Perthshire, 7 Main Street, DouneAfter visiting nearby Doune Castle, we stopped by the Buttercup cafe for a quick lunch before driving on to Loch Lomond. The sandwiches are a bit heavy on the mayonnaise or in my case the goat cheese making them a bit difficult to eat. But the coffee, tea and baked goods were the real hit! If you like a nice warm latte like I do, this place is great. The atmosphere is charming and the service is great. Wish I could go there again!

Cafe Circa
The Scottish Antiques Centre, DouneDidn't expect much from a café attached to an antiques centre, but this place was a wee beauty. Only stopped for coffee and cake, but it had a fantastic menu and alcohol licence.
Service was slick, scone with homemade plum jam immense and the meals coming out looked the business. Booking is recommended as the place is rightly busy.
