11 Main St, CallanderThe Ben Ledi is a great place in Callander, and I visit almost every time I go.
It's rustic and the coffee is good.
The food can be hit or miss with what's available and a cushion would go a long way to making the chairs a little more comfortable but all in a place to know about in the area.

Nick's at Port of Menteith
Port of Menteith, StirlingCan I tell you, It’s nice to go somewhere and not be scared of the menu. There’s nothing you need to avoid, nothing you need to think twice about, nothing you need to think “but it just might not be good here”. Just order what you feel like because it’s all good. That’s Nick’s.
Second visit in 3 years. We live in Edinburgh and haven’t managed to get up as much as we would have liked. Our first experience was excellent, our second experience…excellent.
I feel like it shouldn’t take much to make good tasting food, but there just too many places that just can’t do it! Nick’s has a small menu with good options. Nothing fancy, nothing crazy. Just good tasting fresh ingredients cooked well.
We dined for lunch with our two kids under 5 in the indoor dining space. The staff were amazing and we felt comfortable dining the whole time.
It got really busy as it was a Saturday but they managed to serve us in good time. You could even see Nick through the restaurant doors doing a cooking course. It’s nice to know the owner, “the man with his name on the door”, at the location cooking as well. Make you feel confident in what you’re ordering. Or maybe that’s just me.
If you have kids or you like good food and you’re in the area or both. Don’t hesitate, just book. It’s NOT a regrettable experience.

120 Main St, CallanderMy lunch (which was a special of tender, moist, and flavorful roast turkey, herbed stuffing, fried and roasted baby golden potatoes, and assorted veg - some fried sweet potato sticks, brussel sprouts, naturally sweet steamed carrots, and rotkuhl) was unbelievably good.
I felt like a kid again and inhaled it - even though the portion was enormous! Well worth the trot down to the end of the Main Street. Needs to be ranked higher in reviews! The waitstaff was also lovely and I was sorry to have to leave so quickly.

Callander Meadows
24 Main St, Perthshire, CallanderThe most wonderful experience! I reserved a room from the US and everything went very smoothly. Lesley was amazing and very accommodating, and her breakfast was delicious! We stayed one night on our way to Fort William but there are amazing things nearby to explore. Lesley gave us wonderful suggestions about cafés, waterfall trails, and more! It was an absolute pleasure and a wonderful introduction to Scottish hospitality!

Mhor Bread & Store
8 Main St, CallanderThis is an amazing bakery. I could happily spend all day here working my way through all the different things they have on offer. The only downside is that it’s so popular that, if you’re not familiar with the shop, you can feel a bit rushed and not quite able to take your time looking at everything properly.
That said, I can highly recommend the haggis and pork sausage roll!

The Brewhouse, Queens Lane, Bridge of AllanGreat tour. Interesting beers, a very knowledgeable guide, friendly staff and a good atmosphere. Many thanks.
(10 years later.... still 5*. Had another great tour. Douglas was a really good tour guide, happily answering all our questions. Staff were great and so was the steak pie afterwards. Hopefully not another 10 years to my next tour.)

Loch Achray, CallanderLovely wee atmospheric restaurant with excellent staff!
The service here is tremendous, the people running it now are so friendly and helpful.
Food is always nice and at a good price for the excellent quality. Large selection of beers, wines, whisky and other boozes.
Been going many years, and changed hands a couple times, but always enjoyed the lovely decor, the great views and the delicious food!

The Lade Inn
The Lade Inn, CallanderIt was really quiet as we went on a Wednesday in winter. We were fortunate to have a seat near the ponds where we watched the frogs.
The fish and chips were good. They also have a selection of local beers.
It's worth a visit.

Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, 12 Main St, CallanderPopped in this morning (Sunday) on our way home, had 2 coffees and 2 full breakfasts. AMAZING value for money and the BEST freshest breakfast I've had in a long time.
2 big juicy sausages, 2 rashers of perfectly cooked bacon, haggis, black pudding, Portabello mushroom, beans, tattie scone, sour dough toast and a perfect soft poached egg. Great coffee and fantastic & friendly service. Highly recommend and we will definitely return when were back in town. Bypass the place next door and give them a try ? ❤️

7-9 Main St, Perthshire, CallanderLovely little shop to have a cuppa, nice soft seating with plenty of covid measures in place.The service when we visited though was extremely slow we ordered a black coffee and an espresso with 2 muffins and it took over 10 minutes ? which is a long time for a simple order at a quiet time.
