Breakfast of avocado, sun-dried tomatoes and roasted honey vegetables on sourdough. Looked stunning, tasted delicious. Better still my coffee was HOT, something which a surprising number of cafes do not manage to get right! The cakes looked amazing but I was too full due to the generous portion size.
What a fantastic surprise! I ducked into La Viola on a Sunday morning walk expecting to have a cappuccino. I looked at the menu and was lured in by the avocado, sun dried tomato and veggie sashulka. I had no idea what to expect, but wow! It’s now one of my favorite things in Edinburgh Everything on the menu looked great, and I like that they add a little twist to the usual cafe offerings. Service was great, the place has a good ambiance, and even the cappuccino was good!

I’ve come to this place 2-3 times and I love it! Really large portions and the food tastes good, love how many menu options there are too. My boyfriend didn’t like the Scottish breakfast (shown in photo) but I love both the French Toast and Croque Monsieur! Such a cute spot, definitely recommend.
