This has to be one of the nicest friendliest warm welcoming pub in the country. ever time iv been in the hotel bar I meet friendly local people who are happy to chat over a drink with the real fire burning in the background. theres a beer garden out the back ideally on a sunny day to sit and chill with my dog. the staff and always keen to help offer a wealth of knowledge on local places to visit. live music played on some Saturday nights a real good vib. We were staying at Cally Palace Hotel for a night, but, as they weren't showing the football, we decided to try our luck in town. This was the hotel we stepped in first .. and we didn't need to walk back out! As soon as we walked in, the barmaid turned on the football for us and asked us what we were drinking - perfect! We saw the bright lights of the Staropramen tap and the mad ourselves comfortable. I can't find any faults with the bar area and they had also set up Covid rules...read full review
Super hotel/bar and very friendly Value for money and superb breakfast Staff friendly and helpful Enjoyed our stay for the 3rd time. Location is excellent for Galloway forest. Parking easily found on street usually outside the enterance door.
