We got a take away from this restaurant the best chinese restaurant in Greenock for many years now I was disappointed in the satay sauce as it was grainy but the chicken in batter was lovely and so were the noodles ! I would go back for another take away or a sit in meal definitely !
I used to frequent this restaurant for lunch in the late 70s when I worked in Greenock. I was back in Greenock and wanted a pre theatre dinner so I was happy to return to the China Garden. While the restaurant has changed, the quality of the food and service was superb. I had the chicken and sweet corn soup followed by the King Prawns with ginger, cashew nuts and pineapple with fried rice. Very fresh and tasty. We read the reviews and decided to check this Chinese Restaurant out. The restaurant itself looked dated, with bright lights and basic furniture. However, the service was quick and friendly, the food was excellent, freshly cooked and very tasty. And the bill at the end, extremely reasonable. If you're in the area it's definitely worth a visit for the great food, service and prices, but don't expect luxury decor.
