25 Grey Pl, GreenockBooked a table for 2pm today and upon arrival was greeted and seated within 30 seconds,great friendly staff.Pleasant small premises so better to book a table as it was full when we arrived.
Food came out within 15 minutes,all freshly cooked and was delicious.We ordered fries on the side £3.00,what a bargain,would have been enough for six people to pick away at,in all my eating out we usual get small stingy portions of fries,but not here.Will definitely go back and tell family and friends about this great experience.
Parking was an issue but that's not the businesses fault,but Aldi is a 30 seconds walk away so we used that car park.

I had very tasty baked potato with cheese ham and salad.

We ordered a set meal to share with chicken noodle soup, BBQ spare ribs, a chicken curry and salt and chilli chips. Everything was absolutely perfect, the Chinese BBQ ribs were so tender and the flavour was unreal, the noodle soup broth and chicken was spot on, the chips were packed with flavour and the curry was delicious!
Since moving to Greenock I have been on the hunt for a good Chinese takeaway, I’ve tried a few locals but have found the portions to be small and the curry sauce always tends to have a strange sweet taste to it but the China Inn didn’t disappoint whatsoever! This has instantly become my go to and will be ordering again very soon!

So as a new fan to this place, I want to say thanks. Firstly, the food is absolutely brilliant here. Tasty, fresh, with just the right amount of sauce, non greasy chicken balls and (very rare!) brilliant chips. The food is excellent, in other words. Tonight we waited a long time for delivery (in fairness it’s Saturday, so to be expected) when I called again I was told it was on its way. Unfortunately half an hour later it still wasn’t here so I called again and the nice lady who always answers the phone could be heard in the background trying to figure out what was wrong. Turns out the order went to the wrong place. It happens. But the big success was the apology and the food turning up piping hot within 10 minutes. The guy apologised and waited at the door while we checked the order was complete, which it was. The food was brilliant as usual.
Thanks for admitting a mistake and putting it right, in the best way! ⭐️

Told her it was my first time trying PK75 and she looked at me and said ‘I really hope you like it’ - I reassured her that I would and I did! Burgers were fab, so delicious peppercorn sauce was fantastic (just as my friend recommended to me) chips, popcorn chicken (which is actual chicken breast) and onion rings were all spot on and piping hot. Might have waited a bit longer but you can see why there was a queue. Will defo be using again.

No one else in at this time but it was small, cosy and warm... and spotless. We were served by Matt the manager, couldn't ask to meet a nicer, more helpful guy with a good sense of humour to cheer us up on a cold, wet evening. Fish and chips was scrummy washed down with a good pot of tea and some dainty cups to add a special touch. Thanks Matt for the well prepared food, the service and your banter....we'll be back. We won’t order from anywhere from here for kebabs, pizzas, etc.
The staff are so kind and friendly, and the food is just incredible! Whenever my family fancies a kebab or pizza - this is the place we immediately order from.
This place doesn’t even deliver to our address as we’re technically too far away for their delivery system - but we come to them because of their quality and decent prices!
I’d recommend 100% every single time! I’ve never had a bad experience here since we steered back over 10 years ago!!

Alex and Jen were absolutely amazing; warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive without ever being overbearing. The cocktail knowledge on display was seriously impressive. Alex, in particular, demonstrated exceptional expertise when asked for a Whiskey Sour New York style, a request that many local bar staff wouldn’t be familiar with, yet it was delivered flawlessly.
Beyond the drinks, the atmosphere, the views, the quality of the food, and the genuine hosting abilities of the whole team made the experience truly memorable. This is exactly the kind of bar and restaurant Greenock needs; professional, passionate, and focused on delivering a top-tier experience.
We’ll definitely be back.

Shouldn't have worried as the staff gave us excellent service. Food quality was great. I love the fish and chips there. A chunky piece of well cooked haddock at only a few pounds more than the thin angel cut offerings of the local chippies. Well done and keep up the good work.

A sweet and sour chicken over rice, that was very fresh and hearty. Hand made, fresh ingredients. Also the spring rolls appetizer was delicious. The lasagne was average but also tasty and hearty. It came with a salad and garlic bread. We declined the dessert but they had a nice varied dessert menu with the pub favorites. Tempting but we were full. Service was very nice and friendly. Parking is ample at the back of the pub, off the street. Enjoyed the experience. We'll be back for that dessert!

I thought the scrambled egg was ok but I like mine more buttery and less milk. Smoked salmon was nice. Bread could have been more rustic. Overall nice and tasty and well presented with rocket and balsamic glaze. Nice crockery. Toilet nice and clean but toilet seat doesn't sit right for gents to pee and sink tap could be secured better. Service nice and friendly

80-92 Cathcart St, GreenockThe James Watt Pub in Greenock is located in the old Victorian era post office building that dates from 1899. \n\nThe inside has preserved much of the historic vibe with lots of wooden furnishings, high ceilings and big windows. It has a definite feeling and look of space to spare.\n\nThe James Watt is part of the Wetherspoon chain of properties, which includes pubs and hotels. You can download the app and use it to specify your location and table number so that you can order food and drink.\n\nUnlike the experience with the Hungry Horse app, the Wetherspoon app worked flawlessly. We were quickly able to order food and beverages. My Sweety really enjoys a pint of Guinness Zero.\n\nThe James Watt received more than one visit for dinner while we were staying in the area. Similar to the Tail 'o the Bank pub you fetch your own condiments, cutlery and napkins once the dinner order goes through.\n\nThe dishes we ordered tended towards the pub's strengths. Steak & Ale pudding, Fish & chips plus Bangers & Mash get thumbs up for big, tasty portions. Even the nibbles like Chicken Fingers were good value for the money. \n\nWe did not order any appetizers or dessert. The mains were sufficient to stuff us full every time. The pub also offers smaller portions of favourite dishes. You can get every meal of your day here. From a full breakfast to brunch and dinner. \n\nEverything in Greenock is centrally located. The James Watt was less than a five minute walk from our hotel. We liked it well enough for repeat visits.\n\nWe did encounter a local character with whom we had a nice chat. However, between the beer and the brogue, we might have missed a couple of things. He did show me a poster claiming that the notorious pirate William Kidd was from Greenock.\n\nWe do recommend that you visit the James Watt pub. The building itself provides a huge space and a lot of historical vibes. The food is well portioned and quite tasty. Staff were courteous, polite and cheerful, adding to the overall positive experience.

They along with Stacey (we will get back to her) make a Wednesday, my weekend so worth while I do shifts, so look forward to a wee pony or 10 in the Green Oak The characters make Still Game a bit lame. If you asked for '2 pints prick' not only will you get 2 pints, but a fortunes worth of comedy back at you. I won't lie, this is a working man's pub full of character and charm, with many a live act throughout the week My highlight being karaoke/play your cards right, with Stacey. I did say we would get back to her. What a brilliant time, reads the room, forgets who's next, forgets who's singing last, laughs along with the singer, patient, encourageble (yes a big work word for greeonck) and has a right good laugh. 29 Regent St, GreenockWow! Just had a chicken tikka masala, chicken pakora and garlic naan bread from the new Manzil restaurant, opposite the Green Oak bar. Best curry I've had in ages! £17 and there's still more than half left over for another day. Absolutely delicious ????

11 Brougham St, GreenockLoved it it's been rebranded from a snooker hall it's more of a pool hall now. Went with my niece we got 3 hours for the price of 2.ate a burger and portion of pakora. Lovely even though I did get beat lol. Fun place

Ladyburn Business Centre, In, Park 18 Pottery St, GreenockWas really happy that I'd come across the Cottage for lunch today. I had a delicious bacon, cheese and tomato omelette. Lots of filling and well cooked. Served with fries. Everything was hot which is important to me. Really nice staff. Only good things to say and I'll definitely be back.

134 Cathcart St, GreenockBurger was excellent, tasty and well cooked but took at least 30 mins before food was served, staff were nice and friendly, toilets left a lot to be desired, one had no seat and no loo roll.
