“Popped in for light lunch and decided on the field mushroom filled with haggis smoked cheese together with crispy potatoe and fresh mixed and dressed salad which was off the starter menu.
All I can say is what a stunning clever dish.
Wonderful and priced well.
Thank you.”

“One of a kind. Small, a bookshop/library with food! Recent extension of hours from 3pm to 5 (I'll check if I'm wrong). A small selection of edibles on offer, but always a pleasure to sample the delights, and contrary to other establishments, (well behaved) dog friendly. Even children (same criteria applies)!
Can get a little busy lunchtimes, but I've never had to wait. Highly recommended, though if you are a book lover hide the wallet, as temptation is all to prevalent whilst sampling the Guinness cake. Regular readers will know I'm a bit of a coffee snob, and this place lives up to my expectations....
Parking: Free local parking is generally available, We tend to park at the Common Haugh the other side of town and walk the ten minutes. There IS local parking and if you are respectful of the space shouldn't be a problem.
Hawick has yet to discover the 'joy' of revenue enhancement through 'enforcement', just park sensibly and all will be well!!”

“Lovely café, stopped here for a quick lunch. The two tables by the front are dog friendly. They have highchairs and good options for children. I had the lentil soup which was lovely. They have a few vegan options which is nice. The staff were friendly, would return.”

“Make sure you go to toilet before food because you won't want to walk that far. Food was good better than other spoons in the surrounding areas.”

“Friendly staff, no quibble at all when we wanted to switch table to outside. Good value and quality. Experience differs greatly to the poor reviews I've seen here. Cleanliness improvement of indoor tables would deliver a 5 star review.”

“Great place for lunch in a gorgeous setting, perfect portion sizes and lovely coffee.
Had the pleasure of having their special afternoon teas on Mothers Day which are amazing, as are all of their cocktails. Would highly recommend this place for any occasion.”
