Heart of Hawick is a real asset to Hawick, as the town has suffered from the decline of its industries and businesses in the High Street. The venue is a converted Victorian mill which contains a cinema, cafe and arts facility. It's possible to have a meal before or after a film or a live performance and the view over the river makes it attractive. Haven't been in here in years but it's a great little cafe/meeting point now. Just nipped in for a quick coffee as we were passing through but there seems to be plenty on. Service was grand and prices were very reasonable,

I had a morning coffee here, with a piece of dark chocolate millionaire's shortbread, which was pennies over a fiver. Coffee was good, and the shortbread satsfactory. The location is very nice, and I look a window table, overlooking the Slitrig
