Cafe Mint

On our way to to The Lonach Gathering we discovered Insch. We stayed up the road just a bit but on Friday night we ended up at the Commerical Hotel bar next door and met Mike, who treated us to a dram of his favorite Scotch whiskey, Fantastic company, thanks for sharing Mike! We then ate at Mint next door and I had the best Chicken Saag I've ever had, and our host Mo was wonderful. A gem in Insch, if you find yourself passing through please check it out and meet the lucky locals who call it home!

Butterfly Effect - Zero Waste Cafe & Refillery

Friendly staff. Tasty cake. Gluten free. Good coffee. Reasonably priced. Busy little cafe with only four tables. Lots of little children there when I visited so quite noisy. Not a problem for me, as I like children. Good for families - there is ice-cream and sweets.Kid-friendliness: Welcomes kids.

Fast Frys

Miles better than our slightly more local chip shop, this is well worth the extra 5 minute drive! Good portions, Mrs enjoyed her chicken burger (she did say a slice of cheese would have been nice - I said she should have asked!), Chips are fat and moist and cooked perfectly, fish tasted very fresh, and the shop itself is absolutely spotless. 5 stars, thank you!I didn't take a picture of the food, so here is a picture of a dog that looks like John Travolta instead.

KELLOCKBANK

Standard garden center with a tea/lunch room. Often stop for a coffee and cake. Lunches looked good and the priced are slightly below average. My only gripe... Wish they'd sweep the lunch seating area floor as well as cleaning the tables. Put you off looking at the mashed-in chips and food. I'd recommend a visit. Easy parking and good for disabled people. Addendum: all the Xmas gubbins is out. Food as good as ever. New addendum: no change may 2023...even newer addendum 2023: Crimbo stuff is out...with the Christmas music battling with the shop music, two video advertising stands, shop background music and wind up Christmas snow globes...makes your hearing aid useless...addendum to the addendum: no change...fish &chips was amazing...nom nom nom...

Village Takeaway..... Don't be scared, the food is excellent. We had Chinese one night and Pizza a couple of nights later. Service can be a little slower, but quality is brill!
