Nice cosy spacious cafe with comfy seating and reasonable prices although not a great selection of cakes and fancies.

Visited several times with varying friends. Couple who run this rude & arrogant. More than once we were made to feel uncomfortable when we were last customers in a full hour before advertised closing time. Female pointedly paced past us whilst we were still eating moving chairs & either pretending to tidy up or actually sweeeping the floor near us. The last straw was when the husband proceeded to hoover near & around us. This was the only time we actually complained about such rude unhygienic practice to to be told by him if we didn't like it not to come back. Needless to say we haven't.

The Bistro is attached to a Horse Riding hotel and the food is reasonable and to a good standard, will be back when i am next in the area

There are occasions that food is great but there are also occasions that food could be a lot better. But still a four star for me.

Great place for breakfast, lunch, snack or just a coffee and bit of cake. Nice relaxing warm surroundings, nice place to look over at the working stables from your table whilst having your lunch having a chat. Great place to bring your family as there's usually something going on in the yard or outdoor arena.

When in the area to watch a football game we stopped here for breakfast, very nice, hot food. Reasonably priced, if in the area would stop again.

Having read the favourable reviews, I had looked forward to lunch here but, sadly, left feeling disappointed. The smell of old fat was off-putting. The chips tasted of old fat - and for some reason the cook had decided to season them for me - far too much salt and pepper. The friendly staff must have been having a day off. A smile would have been welcome.

Sat down as a family of 6 at a table, and after 10 minutes of the waitress ignoring us, we got up and left. We were not inconspicuous as we had loud children also with us, and felt particularly annoyed as she seemed to be cleaning other customer's tables. It was such an awful introduction to the place we left.

Our first time visiting the Stables Bistro was quite the disappointment. The food was of average quality and the burger could do with a bit of seasoning. The service however was quite poor; the waitress looked like she needed a decent sleep and her stoic expression matched the nonplussed behaviour throughout the experience. After finishing I had to get up to ask for the bill, but stood waiting at the counter whilst the cashier sat at one of the restaurant tables zoned into her smartphone - eventually she noticed and sprang into action. When I responded in a ‘so-so’ kind of way to her question if everything had been ok, her demeanour changed to a negative expression, no further enquiry was made as to why I wasn’t satisfied and the bill was simply paid and we left. Just a small town middle of the road joint. Nothing special.

My family and I visited for lunch a few weeks ago and had a pleasant lunch we each had a burger with different toppings and they were all nice. Value was reasonable and service was good.

This eatery caters mainly for visitors and participants of the riding centre. It suits my mother in law as it is local to her home. Food is generous in terms of portion size and the menu is varied. Prices reasonable. Service with a smile. The environment both inside and out is a bit tired so personally I wouldn't choose it. But it provides a venue for a convenient family lunch.

Visit for lunch menu not extensive but adequate and reasonably priced. Soup and sandwich well presented and tasty. Friendly staff would visit again.
