This classic fish & chip takeaway serves very fine British fish & chips. The fish was good quality, the batter was crispy and the chips were cooked to perfection in the traditional style (they seemed cut from fresh potatoes). And it wasn't greasy at all. One small remark - it would have been nice to have had a choice for fish. We were given haddock, cod would have been nicer. It all took me back many, many years to my youth - yummy!
This is strictly a takeout business these days, contrary to past reviews. This appeared to be the place to go for fish & chips based on past reviews - seems like the locals prefer it. If that's the case, I can see why. The fish was outstanding, and HUGE. My wife actually got the chicken and the spice on that was excellent, too. The chips were also perfect. Only warning I'd give is that you should bring cash because they do not take card. Highly recommend this place.

We’re from the US and were visiting the UK for the first time. We are by no means fish and chips connoisseurs. This was the first fish and chips place we went to and no other place topped it the rest of the trip. It was absolutely incredible.
