The Boatshed Restaurant
Cromwell St, StornowaySarah our server was an absolute sweetheart. It makes such a difference when having a staff member that gives service with a smile and a bit of banter in what is a upper class restaurant. The food is amazing but her warmth and positive aura made our dining experience so memorable.
She even impressed us with her knowledge of the Unicorn being the national animal for Scotland ?

Wardicott
Back, LIGHTHILLLoved our stay with Rod & Gloria. Immaculate room and hearty breakfast cooked to order. Rod is a lovely gentleman, helped us make the best of our 2 days at Wardicott, a font of local knowledge so we saw the best of Lewis.
Highly recommended a stay at Wardicott, 1st class hospitality throughout, thanks both ♡.

Bridge Centre Cafe
Lamont Lane, Bayhead, StornowayA hidden gem!
The best pad Thai I have ever had.
The food here is full of flavour and truly authentic. Whilst the cafe doesn’t look like much on the inside the food is out of this world and very very good value.
Can’t wait to come back already!

The New Lewis Bar
8-10 North Beach, StornowayThe only place in Stornoway we found that was still serving food after we showed up for a late lunch. The staff was so sweet and accommodating and the sandwiches and slaw very good; and it’s veryy dog friendly - they gave us treats to take home and a little bandana for our dog!

Crown Hotel
Crown Hotel, StornowayWe had drinks in the bar, very pleasant girl behind the bar. We then went back for a second visit to eat and the food was amazing, 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed our food. The service was brilliant too. They are dog friendly which is brilliant as there aren't many places in Stornoway that is.

HS-1 Cafe Bar
Isle of Lewis, Cromwell St, StornowayMy wife and I asked where we should go for the best fish and chips. The people on the dock (we were on a Virgin Voyage cruise) recommended HS-1. They couldn’t have recommended a better restaurant. The fish and chips were GREAT and the service was outstanding. You must try it.

Eleven Restaurant & Bar
11 James St, StornowayWent for Sunday dinner, booked a week in advance as on the day wasn't possible the previous week.
Ample parking and welcoming staff. The restaurant itself is very big and absolutely roasting, the radiator was on even though it wasn't cold outside.
We didn't have the concept explained to us so had to check with another member of staff.
The food at the buffet was tasty, the meat (gammon, beef and lamb shank) was cooked nicely with beautiful gravys. The toast potatoes needed a lot more roasting, they weren't very crispy. The cauliflower/ broccoli and cheese was raw ?.
Puddings were lovely and generous. Children's menu was generous sizing and very good value.

Camerons Chip Shop
33 Point St, StornowayChose this place for fidh and chips experience. Food was nice, chips were fluffy inside and crispy outside, freshly done. The place is rather small and for takeaway, although it had a songle table with few chairs.

Golden Ocean
12-14 Cromwell St, StornowaySimple Chinese restaurant with an albeit limited menu. This place is a good place for a quick lunch and the service is indeed rapid. The food is relatively simple but good.

Istanbul Indian Restaurant
24 South Beach, StornowayOne of this interesting places with very good and very bad reviews. However, we spent a lovely evening here with good food. Yes, it's on the pricey side compared with the mainland but everything on the Outer Hebrides is. And with a bit of thinking it's clear why....
Staff was very friendly and helpful, the Ambiente could do with some work though. Maybe some fresh paint would help.

Big Bite
35 Point St, StornowayBest kebab, curry, and pizza in town. Efficient, rarely had any order mishaps and have been using for years now.
Dietary restrictions: Can't guarantee gluten free due to nature of small busy takeaway kitchen which is entirely understandable.
Good selection of vegetarian dishes
