I made the mistake of eating in at Lucky House Although the food was excellent, the experience was somewhat soured by the poor service given only one staff manned the till, took carry out orders (it’s very popular!) and waitressed. Take away therefore recommended as an option
Cheerful service. Mongolian lamb more like Szechuan, spicy and cumin without a hint of hoisin sauce- Roast duck with vegetables was excellent and the special fried rice was Scottish style with gravy! Spring rolls were tasteless, mostly cabbage.

Called for takeaway, as far as I could see this is the only Chinese restaurant in North Berwick. I had Cantonese sweet and sour chicken, very bland, watery sauce, onions just plonked on top and pieces of green pepper which were hard. Chicken in batter was ok but nothing special. Asked for soft noodles with bean sprouts but they were obviously fried. Not uneatable but this place has the monopoly as I think it’s the only one. Wouldn’t go again, I can make better
