“I turned up here without a reservation more in hope than expectation but was well received and they had no problem seating me as a solo diner. I specifically came for the seafood and was not disappointed with excellent steamed mussels and delicious langoustines. I would definitely come here again since the food was excellent, reasonably priced and the staff friendly and professional. I would however advise that you reserve a table beforehand, particularly for the evening.”

“What a place! This might be the only restaurant in the World that is located in a very touristy area and yet it serves amazing food! This place is an experience and a journey: you will talk about the food you had here for a long time.
We loved it!”

“We dined there only once during our short visit to Scotland/Oban. We visited right after 5pm. Staff was refreshingly attentive and respectful. The service was really fast, food was absolutely delicious. Steak was just as ordered, chips were perfect. Seafood chowder was absolutely delicious.”

“The Loch Nell oysters are really delicious. And the Chicken Balmoral was a treat. Indefinitely recommend. My wife took the haddock and chips... Also a winner! I did find the blackthorn cider a bit on the dull side compared to cider from French Brittany that I'm used to.”

“On a coach trip to the west of Scotland, the driver recommended that if we wanted fish & chips then don't go anywhere else, we walked in the seating area was packed out, we waited around 15 minutes for a table, we ordered two haddock, one chips, two drinks and curry sauce, the food was exceptionally good, after chatting with the owner Antony? He said his grandad was Nories
Anyways I said I'd leave a review
Honestly if anyone happens to visit Oban and you fancy a bloody good chippy then don't walk past this place.
Thanks
Shaun”

“I do not understand the low rating. This restaurant is pretty nice. Although the menu looks like they do not know what are they specialized on, but the food/kitchen we have tried was deliciou. We had Black mussels, although I did not know this version with cream the taste was perfect. Even Indian chicken madrasi taste pretty authentic, I would prefer much more spicy but still tasty. Naan needs some improvements though. Good place.”

“Had the mussels for £15, scallops for £15 and seafood salad for £5, mussels were maybe slightly expensive, but scallops were massive, good value, although could have been cooked longer. We asked for that and they put them back on the grill for a bit. The whole quayside is a bit touristy, and we did have a look at the green shack nearby but it was too busy, also £18 for most stuff. Nice place to sit if the weather is good.”
