It's a Tiso shop so it has the usual range of good gear, if a bit expensive. There's a lot more space than the Rose St store in Edinburgh, but (maybe) a bit smaller range. Edit: I originally said, "Usual well-informed and helpful staff", but I found the staff were unhappy looking and not particularly helpful today. My wife gave up on one product because she didn't want to interrupt a group of staff chatting in front of the display. Good coffee in the cafeteria (different company)....read full review
The staff welcome you on the way into the store. So that's a positive. I went there for the cafe. I had the mushroom and tarragon soup. Lots of tarragon stalks left in, which is unpleasant. The soup was not mushroomy enough, and tasted of vegetables predominantly. So the soup was not of a high standard IMHO. The frier had broken too. Some of the staff are a wee bit brusque too. Upstairs in the Tiso outdoor shop, but managed separately I think. Interesting menu, large portions, well cooked, efficient and speedy service despite being busy, good value. A great place to stop on your way to Inverness and beyond.
