Boathouse, Harbour Road, Newton StewartIt was fabulous. Huge portions. Great views. Lovely staff. Even got a doggy bag because I could not finish my lunch. Got some lifeboat souvenirs too. Two very happy visitors.

Newton StewartSuperb food, great menu, and excellent service. Loved it so much we ended up going two nights in a row! Would highly recommend to anyone living nearby or just passing through, best food we had on our trip. P S. Would suggest adding a copy of the menu and opening hours onto the internet for tourists like us.

Rainbow Chinese Restaurant
39-41 Victoria St, Newton StewartWas sceptical about good take aways in such remote parts of the UK as they are often not great. But this was good. Food very hot even after the 25 minutes drive home. Well cooked. And reasonably priced strange set up, but worked well.

Starfish Takeaway
3 Dashwood Square, Newton StewartWe were a bit worried about the bad reviews, but decided to take the risk. Ahmed was friendly and very careful to get our order right, the food was ready quickly and while it wasn't the best fish and chips we've ever had, we were definitely glad we hadn't stayed away! Don't avoid, go for it!
