We always visit the Silkstone when we shop in Barnsley. It's a shame this one is up for sale as it is one of the best Wetherspoons for giving hot food. Called in today and had the special, mixed grill for £5.99. Super value and all nicely cooked meat. Nice friendly staff. Cant understand why it is on death row as it is always busy and does lovely food.
Small for a Wetherspoons but had a lovely feel too it and had a few lovely features from Barnsley 's mining heritage. Such a pity this is ear marked to go in Tim's Wetherspoons cull!!! The staff were really friendly and I had a lovely pint in between my shopping trip,well worth a visit before it closes if your in the town.
