This is the first time we’ve used this fish & chip shop in Doncaster. We’ve used another well known local one for a few years now. I have to say the staff were friendly & happy, they gave me a chance to browse the menu & decide what we were having. When it came to ordering they showed me sizes of fish as wasn’t sure how big the fish could be. We went with a small cod & haddock with chips mushy peas & a bread cake. After hearing about it's awards I went out of my way to try this chippy and was a little disappointed, food was not bad but the fish batter was soggy on the bottom sticking to the chips and had too much oil I
The fish lives up to the awards it has received. The batter was not too thick and not too light extremely crispy the fish tasted really fresh and the scraps were great too.However the only criticism I would have is when asking for cod and chips you were asked what sized chips you were requiring instead of assuming the because I had a large cod I wanted a large chips.My first visit and would definitely go back, but I’d make sure I got smaller chips.I would Highly recommend you...read full review
