Went here just before a trip with our family to the Polar Express at Churnet Valley railway.Service was great with friendly staff.We had ( the wife and myself) the mixed grill and other things for other family members . The food was lovely whatever we ordered . If I could pick one thing out to say was most of the food comes from the kitchen in the main part of the pub brought outside to the lovely large festively decorated dining area . Today my family attended a wake for a very dear friend .the service and food was fantastic. Everyone was catered for,tea coffee hot food of excellent quality. Cold food also excellent. Lovely room and a warm place to talk and chat on such a sad occasion. Thanks to all the staff.

We stopped here for lunch whilst staying in a nearby area and it was a great place to stop! Beautiful pub with new and old combined. We positioned ourselves next to the fire which was lovely! The food was incredible and cooked to order, the best meal we have had in a long time! Bar staff was very friendly and stopped to have a chat which was nice. 100% recommend - I would travel from Nottingham to come here again!
