Didn't think the prawn cocktail was as good as previous visits . The apple and parsnips soup was extremely thick the chicken and bacon the sauce was very thin more like a milk sauce, no mushrooms in the sauce, I've had this dish on numerous occasions and the sauce as been lovely. Person who had the mushroom starter said the tin dish wasn't nice.

The Swan Inn
Main Rd, Draycott in the Clay, AshbourneBeautifully cooked freshly made food, particularly famous for the range of pies they have.
Our pies were totally delicious and came with separate gravy and a choice of potato styles and a huge bowl of vegetables, we arrived with massive appetites and left unable to finish all the vegetables they gave us.

The Boars Head Hotel
Station Rd, Draycott in the Clay, AshbourneI've stayed at the Boars Head twice now to attend training events with my dog. The hotel was recommended by friends as being dog friendly, in a good location and serving great food, all of which I strongly agree with. I've received a very warm and friendly welcome both times, the online early check in and out option makes checking in and out a breeze, the rooms are a good size and very comfortable, and there is somewhere to walk and play with your dog right outside the hotel. A very enjoyable and relaxing couple of days, Roo and I highly recommend!
