Hare and Hounds East Bergholt
Heath Rd, East Bergholt, ColchesterThanks to Google we found out this pub was open on a Monday. Visited for lunch in the middle of our East Bergholt/ John Constable walk. A massive garden, and traditional food set us up for our return walk.

Oranges & Lemons
The Oranges and Lemons, Rectory Hill, East Bergholt, ColchesterWe held my afternoon tea hen party here and had the best time!! The staff were incredibly accommodating and generous in helping my hens bring their vision to life. Nothing was too much hassle and we felt super welcome - the team at Oranges and Lemons made it all really special. They were also brilliant with our access needs (I’m a wheelchair user) and dietary requirements (vegan, nut free, gluten free, veggie etc). The food was delicious (best vegan afternoon sandwiches I’ve had!) and we’ve had great feedback from the group. The room was the perfect vibe for us - lovely atmosphere and decor. We can’t thank them enough for such a memorable afternoon. We’ll be returning for lunch and more afternoon teas…!
