I love seafood - and by that, TripAdvisor, I mean shellfish, not fish and chips - and was on the lookout for somewhere in Surrey that would satisfy my craving. To that end, I was delighted to discover the Alfold Barn. My wife and I had a fantastic meal there last night. As advised on the website for those wanting seafood here, I called a couple of days in advance to discuss what we wanted so that a suitable order for delivery on the morning could be made - and we were not disappointed, as the photo shows. It’s a lovely historic setting with friendly, attentive staff to boot. Am sure we will return.

Every time we visit Fran, Carolyn and Scott give us the warmest of welcomes. We feel like part of the family. They are genuine people, offering delicious wholesome home cooked food. Personally I can't wait to try the seafood platter in the summer!!

Excellent as per. This is the only place that my wife and I will go for Sunday roast, we have tried many others but they have come no where near the standard here. Caroline and her team are always very welcoming, the service has always been first class and the food, always faultless. For those who complain about the standard, you obviously eat in Michelin starred restaurants, because it would take something of that standard to even compete with the food here.

Dreadful. If I could give no stars I would. My son took me for Mother’s Day because I haven’t been out since a double transplant. I had roast beef, the first plate out was awful in that the beef was pure gristle and I spat the first two mouthfuls out. The second plate of meat was over cooked and tasteless, I ate nothing…I’m thinking an inferior piece of beef. The roast potatoes were pale, uninteresting, tasteless and undercooked. The vegetables served in a little dish were dried up and I didn’t even bother trying them. I would have thought as the first sitting more of an effort would have been made but I honestly think we were served Saturday nights leftovers. I wouldn’t let my son waste money on a sweet, we left. Waste of money and we won’t be going back.Parking: Dry tight on parking so made sure we parked where we would t get blocked in as we were booked for 12noon
We dined here on a cold wet day but The Alfold Barn was an oasis of warmth and joy. I'm not sure what was the most warming. There was Scott and his blazing log fire, Fran with her magnificent cooking, the delightful servers and, of course, Carolyn's beautiful smile. The roast pork was the best I have ever had and my wife said her, melt in the mouth, beef was superb. Thank you all for your supreme efforts in these difficult times.

Very busy, as it was Mothers Day lunch, but lots of attentive staff who made sure that the service was speedy and excellent. The food was fantastic as always, and lots of it! So glad that I didn’t have a starter as I wouldn’t have been able to fit in the gorgeous Eton mess (loads of lovely strawberries)! Highly recommended!
