Called in for lunch and we were seated by an extremely friendly and helpful young man . The table had an absolutely magnificent view of the Tyne despite the rotten weather. Food arrived quickly and was enjoyable . Definitely would return again.

A top notch venue, great food, attentive friendly staff and fantastic views over the Tyne. You can see trains and boats and planes.Garlic bread was big and tasty, shared as a starter. My son had the mixed grill, a meat feast.Vegetarian options: A bigger choice of vegetarian food would be good.

afternoon tea disappointed to say the least, waitress clearly hates her job was bordering on rude, food was basic scones served with margarine and not butter, the bread for the sandwiches was old and very dry crusts had been left on in various places!

Booked in October for a family meal after Xmas. Was told via messenger that it would be the Xmas fayre menu and that we needed to pay a deposit, which we did. Upon arrival we were given the regular menu. When asked about the festive menu I was told they had ran out of stock and were awaiting delivery , didn’t get an apology for this, even though id checked and paid a deposit. Ordered from the regular menu. Starters were good however the fish and chips we received were not cooked correctly- the oil obviously wasn’t hot enough and so the batter on the fish was sloppy. When the waitress came to clear the plates she asked about the fish and we told her about the batter not being cooked. The rest of the food was average. It would have been a nice gesture to receive an apology for both the lack of festive menu and the fish but we didn’t get one and the staff did not seem bothered at all. Very disappointing when you’ve spent £150 on food for a Christmas family meal.

The pork on my Sunday dinner was inedible, instead of crackling it was like tough leather. I hate complaining but I mentioned it to the lady serving us and she got the manager. The manager was rude, aggressive and insulting. He aggressively asked why I hadn't said anything earlier, and I explained that I am autistic and find stuff like this incredibly uncomfortable. He accused me of saying the food was fine when the server asked during the meal, but my husband said his was fine, I didn't say anything at all. Instead of being understanding he asked "well what do you want me to do about it?" ... As the manager he shouldn't need me to tell him what to do. At this point I was starting to panic and shut down, but said could he knock something off the meal, he then aggressively said to the server "just take £1.50 off it" then stormed off. The £1.50 wasn't taken off as a gesture of good will, it was taken off as an insult. I was there with friends and they all felt uncomfortable due to his confrontational attitude. From previous reviews I can see the manager treats his staff the same way he treats his customers, which probably explains why most of them seem unhappy. Safe to say we won't be returning.

Had an amazing night for our engagement party last night and cannot thank the staff enough as we were well looked after. Everyone had a great night and want to say a massive thank you to Dylan and Andrew and Amy who worked their socks off and made the night go smoothly. Would definitely recommend this venue for parties and also a big thank you to the DJ Mike who got the party swinging

booked the function room for 70th birthday get together.Had an excellent afternoon. The room had a lovely ambience .The food was lovely as was the staff who couldn't help us enough.Special thanks to Andrew.I would thoroughly recommend this venue.
