We cannot speak highly enough about ‘The Angel Inn’, Mawdlam, near the Kenfig nature reserve. The staff were so lovely, helpful, most obliging and nothing at all was a problem for them, they made us feel very welcomed. The food was delicious! First rate! As a group of ladies we have had many meals in many places and ‘The Angel Inn’ is definitely up there with the very best even surpassing a few! This place was surprisingly quiet on a Friday lunchtime. It is set opposite a wild country park which can be very cold in winter. Inside it is welcoming with attentive staff. I can particularly recommend the scampi which was attractively served and very enjoyable. I will certainly return.

Sunday lunch was great, food terrific. Only blip was after our second course, no-one came to clear our plates and ask if we required anything further. But we did enjoy andwill go again
